How long until someone creates an Augmented Reality horror movie where you can only see the monster through an AR device? Seems like such an obvious cheesy idea, but nobody has done it yet. Has the movie industry finally lost it's touch?
Augmented reality porn will of course come first. ...but in the US this would mean gun shots in walls and shit. It would be disastrous. ...but realistically, movies? You want a MOVIE somehow playing out in your apartment somehow, procedurally generated? At most you'll just get that Pokémon Go thing, with monsters just standing around.
>>234806 >Augmented reality porn will of course come first. In AR you are just looking at a screen. VR puts you into a new physical location, and is far superior to AR for doing that. AR is just looking at a flat screen. >You want a MOVIE somehow playing out in your apartment somehow, procedurally generated? No, I meant, someone makes a horror movie where the villain can only be seen by the movie's characters through an AR device. Like pokemon go, but you get killed by the pokemons you don't see unless you use AR
>>234807 I turned 43 this week, and you're talking to me about Pokémon Go horror movies. I'm too old for this shit. I bet you think Markiplier would make a great main protagonist in that movie. You've already had The Ring and VCR. If you want something similar to AR, go watch They Live!.
>>234808 Who is markplier? >I'm too old for this shit. It is happening though (not with pokemon). Just wait for it. Here is the plot in a nutshell: >some people start dying from some unknown thing >some other people start realizing some AR game or device is actually capturing something real from beyond >they use their phones to test their urban legend theory and its actually true >they use their phones to see the monster and run from it >eventually they use their phones to hunt the monster >they kill the monster, the end it´s happening soon and you can refer to this thread when it happens
>>234808 >>234809 Oh I've seen this guy, it´s green or red pewdpie or something. Why is the inside of his face so far apart from the edges of it?
>>234808 >I turned 43 this week Holy fuck
>>234809 >It is happening though (not with pokemon). Just wait for it. No, I'm not going to wait for it, because it's going to be trash. It's yet another "Oh, look: This gimmick spawned a monster." b-movie. "Oh, look! This phone spawned a monster!" "Oh look! This refridgerator spawned a monster!" "Oh look! My ass just shat out a monster!" It's one step below even SCP garbage. That you can tell me the plot beforehand, just goes to show what predictable garbage it is.
>>234813 I never said it wasn't garbage. Precisely because it is cheesy garbage it will have an audience, and someone will want to be the first cashing in on that idea and pioneering a new concept from our world into a movie
>>234836 But you brought it up as if you were excited about the idea, wondering if "the movie industry had lost its touch". Why want something that you think is garbage?
