This thread is about the art of chindogu
>A Canadian sex toy manufacturer has agreed to hand over $4 million to settle a privacy lawsuit after it was discovered its “smart vibrator,” the We-Vibe 4 Plus, secretly collected highly sensitive personal data, right down to the date and time the device was used. >The lawsuit — filed in the U.S. in September 2016 — alleged We-Vibe manufacturer Standard Innovation designed its app to collect and record intimate and sensitive data on use of the vibrator, including the date and time of each use as well as vibration settings (like “pulse,” “peak” and “cha cha cha”). The We-Vibe requires users to download the app, called We-Connect, so users and their partners to control the Bluetooth-equipped vibrator’s settings remotely. http://globalnews.ca/news/3308543/we-vibe-privacy-lawsuit-settlement/
There is a whole big debate and funny comments about this specific story on 8chan If you are wanting user input I mean.Since nobody here is posting
>>72 Ah. Didn't know that. I found it off of Rawstory.
/g/ is an official board now. In addition, the frontpage now has the section "Technology and Science", where /g/, /nsa/ and /sci/ were bundled together.
Anyone else external drive masterrace? I have a linux OS installed on an external HD which I use to boot from my main desktop and laptop. I love it, it's so practical. And you can do this on windows 8+ and MacOS too, they are also compatible with external HDs now and will even pick video card drivers for each computer you boot from on the fly as far as I know (linux does that). The advantages are obvious: >if your computer malfunctions so hard you need assistance of a tech team to figure out the problem, you'll give them a blank PC with no files in it. Privacy and work files are all secured with you on your HD. >Can switch between different workplaces at will. Want to read some comics in bed, or maybe play a point and click game? Boot from your laptop. Want to play witcher 3? Boot desktop. >bought a new PC? Just boot from it and all your software is already isntalled I'm never going back on this setup. It changed my life for the better. Just make sure you have all important files always backed up with spideroak, dropbox or google drive.
Porn on projector? Just wondering if anyone has any advice concerning this; my projector will be here tomorrow morning and I have a 100" screen area ready. Thoughts?
>>33 >porn projector w-why?

>>33 Was it good? What resolution is it?
>>42 Why the fuck not?
Reminds me of that time someone was projecting porn on the entire wall of the next building over at night.
What is the point of chocolatey windows? Why would you want a package manager in windows?
Devuan considers enacting Code of Conduct. Devuan, the once devil-may-care total fork of Debian, once linked to virulent internet sexism and gamer-gate affiliated image forums by Debian Developer Russel Coker, has mulled the option of enacting a Code of Conduct when one of its female members was insulted: > https://botbot.me/freenode/devuan/2016-05-25/?page=2 >jaromil today i was scrolling through http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_... >golinux Well, I tried but couldn't find anybody. Then nextime popped up >jaromil jeez. we need to take precautions. and also I get the point from Sarah Mei we need a code of conduct on-line and later for on-site http://www.sarahmei.com/blog/2015/02/01/the-fos... > its never too early for that > >golinux One can only control one's own actions. ;) > >jaromil ah the wise one ... >Wizzup he is doxed? >jaromil that's him. we have a dossier yes Devuan has been criticized for taking a "who gives a damn" and "real admins do it all by hand themselves every install" attitude towards security hardening scripts, and dispise in particular any mention of the "bastille" linux hardening script (originally funded by Mandrake Linux).

What does /g/ think of smartwatches? I got a Moto 360 1st Gen and I love it, its better than the 2nd Gen and I can swim with it. Good for school and the gym but ugly in my opinion. Been looking for a new one maybe
mechanical timepieces are better value for money taking into consideration the limited screen size and feature set of a smartwatch, and the longevity of a reliably built mechanical timepiece vs the 2-3 years a smartwatch would be relevant. so not a fan
I agree that mechanical time pieces are a better value for the money. I expect my watch to keep working for decades while the smart watches you get today will be obsolete and probably not running with in five years. If I were you I would get an analog watch and use a smart phone or laptop for the other stuff but that is just me. Plus it is your money spend it however you choose.
Some lolis I spend time with use those Samsung smart watches. They sure do seem swell but I wouldn't want to have to use anything with a Google operating system and my mechanical Swiss watch seems to do a good job of tellin the time.
Curious to see the correlation between operating systems and the amount of time people users spend time on their PCs. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MK2JF5G
