Here is what I am considering doing to stop spammers: >Greatly increase posting cooldown for new Anon IDs When using an anon ID, your IP is actually taken in consideration to decide your posting cooldown as well. Spammers will have to make new accounts (which takes some time) and use new IPs constantly in order to spam, or be subjected to strong posting cooldowns. >Add a time factor to unlock anon ID benefits Basically, to be able to bypass captcha, post images, get faster cooldowns and other benefits, not only you'll need an X post count as usual, but you will also need an anon ID that is X days old. Spammers can't get benefits anymore by spamming 1000 posts in a few minutes. >Reporting posts may have new consequences: If an __untrusted__ anon ID post is reported, that anon ID becomes locked from posting until all reports are dismissed. If an untrusted anon ID post is reported by a highly trusted ID, all posts made by that user are automatically hidden as well. You may re-report a post with your highly trusted ID to achieve this effect. If an IP poster is reported by a highly trusted ID, all posts made by that user are automatically hidden as well and he is prevented from posting until reports are dismissed. >Range IP bans for known proxies and tor, followed by enabling outlander posting again With their posts being mass hidden and with added difficulty in posting, hopefully we will not be an attractive audience to them anymore. And to make it clear, if your account is trusted, then you are immune to other users hiding your posts. If you feel these changes are not enough to stop spammers, let me know of your ideas or how other sites do it. Otherwise I'll start coding them this week.
I will also make that your account needs to be active for X days, rather than existing for X days. That way spammers can't just make 100 accounts and sit until they have enough days in them. Just unsure how I'll go about coding that at the moment, but the ID having "activity for X days" rather than just "existing for X days" is important
>>22199 Sort of related to all of this, but you should code this in for board accounts too. That way it gives a spammer less boards to abuse if old accounts with lots of unused boards on them get nuked (and bring back the board list please).
Aaand the spammer went full retard....
I can't moderate spam. Fucking trusted account BS
>>22236 No mod can, I emailed Gad to let him know the spammer is full of retard fury cuz he can't post his CP and no freedum durrr. But there's no guarantee he'll find my email today.
nice 74 pages of reports, the spammer has recharged his autistic powers, apparently.
>>22240 Nah, i can't, I did what I can, which is let Gad know. Now I'll close this browser and go to have dinner and sleep, I need to wakeup early tomorrow. See ya
don't you see you are acting like a child admin ?
>>22248 Acutally you need to report just 1 post and delete all posts from the spammer, it's faster and it works
>>22250 You're right, I misread your post, I'm sorry. A search for text and mass report sounds like a good idea!
>>22198 do it all, it will be worth it.
Well whatever its going to take. Just work it out.
>>22248 Theres a program out there that solves captcha for spam bots. No human interaction. Lurk moar
>>22238 >cuz he can't post his CP in fact, he is posting it all over the place, enjoy it
>>22255 I didn't notice :)
>>22256 I did
Here's an idea. New accounts cannot post pictures for the first 100 posts until you fix the spam problem. I'm tired of seeing shit tier beaner CP
>>22258 That's already implemented chum...
Here's a quick fix. Give me the ability to mod trusted accounts. I log in 4x the amount of what you do Gad
>>22260 That wont ever happen, it would give the power to obliterate the whole chan to any mod.
>>22260 I'm completely against this idea considering i have enough posts to create over one hundred trusted accounts
>>22262 Entertain the idea is a waste of time, it just won't happen. May be Gad come out with a different idea but allow any mod to touch trusted accounts it a recepy for disaster. I would make it harder to become a trusted account, that could be a good compromise but I think Gad is already working on it.
>>22263 if anything i think he should raise it from 250
>>22264 Agreed, personally I would raise it to 500.
>>22265 Exactly what i was thinking
It would give me power to mod posts made within the last 24 hours. I think a combo of allowing me, that lurks alot, and deletes tons a spam every day the power to delete the rest of the CO spam and logging my actions would improve this place alot. I can honestly say this whole time being a gmod, I haven't b& anyone but the CP spammer. I try to delete all the CP spam every time I get a free minute to stop by. I want to see this place get a chance to grow into a non censored chan. Instead of a place that (((someone))) is trying to hold back with shitty co spam
>>22266 Given the restrictions Gad will implement soon, no bot will try with a treshold so high. Of course there will always a sperg that'll grow his account just to post CP and get banned to start over again, but those will be just special cases.
>>22265 Anything less then 3000 is pointless. A couple days ago it was at 2281 posts the last time I checked. Raising the trusted account above 50 is a mistake. That was just a quick fix that instantly made the problem 25x worse.
>>22267 Once I asked Gad the exact same thing, give me the hability to deal with the trusted accounts of the reports for 24 hours. He didn't honour my request with an answer. But after thinking it for a bit I reached the conclusion he was right. I come here to have fun, I truly despise the idiots that want to post CP and then making this chan close.
>>22269 >Anything less then 3000 is pointless. >Raising the trusted account above 50 is a mistake. Make up your mind, son.
Here's my prediction. Gad will try his hardest to pretend he's not the spammer. He will keep coming up with BS ideas that don't stop the 24/7 CP spam. Nothing he has ever done has slowed the spammer at all. Remember I said this 6 months down the road, when we still have the same amount of spam. Gad is controlled opposition.
>>22272 If you're right I'll shave my head and beg Gad sensei to take me as apprentice. Because if you're right, Gad is the god of trolls.
>>22271 Lrn some reading comprehension. He should of left it at 50. Now all gmods have the ability to abuse their privilege and permab& Anyone they want that has less the 250 posts. (All new users). The spammer makes 3000 posts a day sometimes. Raising it to 3000 still doesn't fix anything of there's 3001 spam posts. This raising the trusted account amount isn't the way to handle this, and was only done as a quick fix while Gad wasn't able to dedicate time to recode shit
>>22274 Ah I understand why your post sounded so wrong, read the new measures Gad plans to implement, you'll see spam 3k won't be possible anymore.
BTW, kudos to who reported all that trash, it was so quick I didn't even see it.
Studies show the average spammer has a micropenis that doesn't archive erection.
>>22274 Mods always were able to &b people. That's not new
>>22278 >the average spammer has a micropenis they called it "my big clitty" tho...
>>22274 >gmods can abuse this has been addressed multiple times but no one seems to care
>>22282 I don't think there was abuse cases, if they were Gad prolly adressed them in private.
BTW, thanks Gad for the cleanup
>>22283 he couldn't have because there is no gmod accountability
>>22286 Are you sure? Logs are to be in any sytem.
>>22287 >Anyway, until I have a system for reporting gmods and retrieving posts the best I can do to contain the spam is let gmods delete all outlander and untrusted id's posts >but if there is any evidence of gmod abuse I will start revoking privileges from them one at a time until the culprit is found Check the global's
>>22288 I'm not sure man, if I were Gad I would mislead everyone on purpouse, to never show all the cards, any information could be used by an intelligent spammer or someone with ill intentions. In any log of any database you can find usernames (easy when you have a short list of mods) and their actions. It may be a pain in the butt but I'm sure Gad have the tools to trace any abuse if necessary.
I'm so glad this website has been spammed with cp. Adult porn is so fucking boring in chans. Just go to pornhub ffs.
>>22295 you are welcome
>>22270 the real idiot goes rampant again, in the end, you will close the site for not allowing legal stuff
>>22417 You're going full retard as well
theres no way hes making any money with this bullshit, hes doing it for spite now
Ahh. It's nice not having to waste time reporting anything anymore. And watching all the retarded newchums come out of the woodwork to whine about the spam. Don't enjoy yourselves too much kiddos!
>>22260 >Give me the ability to mod trusted accounts. Given that it will take days to become a trusted ID after the changes, you are getting that already >>22270 Sorry I haven't been replying to all emails, sometimes the same user talks about the same subject in different emails, and I lose track of who I have already replied to or not >>22272 I hope I can finally prove you wrong >>22282 Gmod action will be reportable and undoable in the future
>>22434 not sure about that, lot of links are legit
That feeling when this thread gets spammed too
I have added the first step in this new process, which is giving anon IDs an "active days" clause. Right now, everyone is at zero active days, but I'll make sure all existing IDs gain as many days as when this new incarnation of masterchan (ccluster) has. You can check your active days in here, as well as the activity required to unlock benefits: https://ccluster.com/app/AnonymousID/Benefits At this moment, the active days is not working. That is, spammers IDs can still become trusted in their very first day of posting, but I intend to enable that today or tomorrow at latest.
>>22483 >>22483 The "active days" also works as a good hint for users. If your ID has too many active days, maybe it is time to donate its posts to a new ID and start fresh, for better privacy
>>22483 see >>22202 I think you should require the ability to post images set to 2 days instead of 1 activity-wise. It would cut down on the pizza spammed to the site if the spammer is caught early on.
>>22487 >I think you should require the ability to post images set to 2 days instead of 1 activity-wise. Yeah, I will rebalance all those values. They are still old.
>>22488 There's a lot on this site that is old/outdated lol...
>>22489 not outdated, just under construction
>>22434 >>22472 There's a couple of spammers trying to make money (may be they are bots). There's the autists that spammed literally hundreds of spam with pizza in one night, that autist made it for revenge, think about it, even if he wanted people to click on his shit, would you after seeing the whole chan literally flooded with spam? That wouldn't work at all, which is the goal of any legitimate spam. So I think you have both cases orbiting around.
>>22492 You seem to forget that there's a lot of idiots around. If they're stupid enough to fall for obvious bait then they're sure to click on the spammed links.
>>22493 That's why we have mods now. To serve and protect (?) But seriously people can do everything in it's power to keep the place clean, what users do is beyond their responsability.
>>22493 >You seem to forget that there's a lot of idiots around. They're really easy to spot too. >"wtf why wont the password work??"
Suggestion: Hide posts by user. I look at front page and see cancer. I want to hide all that cancer. I want to click button that hides all cancer from poster. The same poster that posts nothing but cancer. I no longer want to see his posts, ever. Make CPluster Great Again, gimmie features that r useful. Too much cancer, not enough master race. Vary bad.
>>22496 That would go against anonimity dude.... Even if you don't know the username you would get who's who by the post hidden.
>>22496 >Make CP You are the cancer
>>22499 He's just salty because of the maids
>>22199 so we have to post everyday unless we want to lose our privileges? +3 for effort
>>22496 you are master idiot
>>22500 we know, we know all of you like to be fucked in the ass, what a bunch
>>22507 >>22508 Google translate broken?
>>22509 ass broken ?
>>22510 I pity your sorry excuse for a life
>>22496 >wants to hide the cancer >his posts would be hidden too
>>22496 >cancer, cancer, cancer, cancer, cancer >I want CP inb4 he's the CP spamming sperg
>>22516 >The joke went over my head
>>22497 Not how I was imagining it implemented lol >pic related
>>22496 Found the cancer
>>22502 Not everyday. But everyday that you post you get +1 activity. Not posting does not make it go down
All existing IDs have been given 100 active days. That's how many days have passed since ccluster.com was launched
Now, I'll start coding so the active days requirement starts working, and that will make spammers unable to become trusted IDs solely through quick spamming. At the very least this will make them unable to post images with their spam
>>22446 Explain how the link spammer always has clickable links from his first to last post, you fucking donating posts to him?
>>22527 I have a question. Let's say I post a picture and write out a post to go with it. 20 minutes later I decide I want the picture deleted. Since it's too late to hit the delete button, also being a Gmod I just report my own post and on the mod panel I delete just the image As I want my post I wrote to remain for reasons.. Is this ok to do, or will I be in trouble?
>>22529 Its not abuse if you give your consent ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
>>22528 Even if I am donating posts to the spammer, the changes I'm about to implement will force him to post with an active ID for days before he can post images >>22529 You'll could be in trouble because I'll probably think someone is doing false reports
The spammer picked a bad time to boot the bot up lol...
>>22532 >Active ID needed for posting images Can something similar be done for clickable links?
>>22539 that already exists, but spammers quickly make many posts and gain that benefit right now, because of no time constraint
Almost done implementing and re-balancing active day system to stop spammers
>>22542 >reporting Gad lol
>>22532 >You'll could be in trouble >You will could be in trouble Gad confirmed can't into grammar
>>22544 Gook is his first language not linglish
>>22544 I think English is Gad's third language. I wonder how many do you speak...
>>22198 Duplicate post filter when???
Nice way to ask for features and ensure you won't ever be aknowledge...
>>22550 If I go to your house, and instead of ask for a glass of water i bark at you "water NOW!" or go sassy like "how long do I have to fukking wait for a glass of water"... What would you do? Is it so hard to ask instead of demand? Will your fingers erode to the knuckles if you type more than one word?
>>22551 You were triggered by the way I memed? I have some bad news for ya..
For some reason, my posts are getting posted twice when I post them once..
For some reason, my posts are getting posted twice when I post them once..
For some reason, my posts are getting posted twice when I post them once..
>>22552 >memed Riiiiiight... At least now you know, you welcome
>>22560 >I have a habit with getting triggered Eat a snickers chum, we can tell when your hungry.
>inb4 bye chums dinner etc
>>22561 Didn't work the first time.... this is not the first time. Guess the outcome
>>22564 lol nice, prolly more like nsa watchlist
Death to all spammers Race war now 1488
>>22544 i-it was Just a typo
