Let's get a introduction thread going. I'm the board admin and I've been with Masterchan since shortly after gad created mchan. I live in oklahoma of the United States. I'm also 30.
>>556 k/admin, you still here? any one here? possible to resurrect this place?
Welcome to /k/, MasterChan's weapons board. Our board centers around weapons, armor, and other myriad military technology. While guns are the primary topic, threads involving any other sort of weapons, from swords and knives to tanks and jet fighters, are welcome as well. If you're new, I suggest you read this http://amagicalplace.wikia.com/wiki/Sticky to get acquainted with board's subject matter.
Would you make a gun your daily carry purely for the aesthetic?
>>453 What model is that? I have a CCP, myself. Think I fucked up and should've saved up for a PP, but really wanted a striker-fired pistol that wasn't an LC9 or M&P.
>>453 >aesthetic >M2 theres a reason they shot at that angle
>>515 Thats because everyone that does is a retarded hick piece of faggot from the sticks and doesnt know how to dress
if I were a lanky vietnamese man who always wore outdated military clothes I would carry a tokarev
>>431 Nope. I don't like guns. I prefer to carry my cinquedea in my messenger bag.
Ok here's the voting thread. I'm going to let this sticky stay for a week or two. This is a vote for having the board wiped. Reason for this is because of the events that are talked about here https://masterchan.org/global/thread/17343 please say yes for wipe, no for keep everything, or give me an option that'll work. /k/ is our board so I really want some input from y'all.
/k/ is so slow that I think that wiping it might result in death, so no. Thanks for giving us the option.
Does anyone else get the feeling that somethings Gonna happen soon? Something phucked up and catastrophic?
Not really tbh Even if something big happened like if a country went to war with a super-power It'd be over in a couple of weeks/months now. The total lives one could kill in the blink of an eye is too great and many of the "true" powers that be wouldn't want that as it would reduce their money intake Whether they like it or not they need enough stupid people to collect on while they can relax
I agree, but anything is possible with that little fucklet in North Korea. He'll probably start another war. I also have grown to believe that our own above ground nuclear tests have messed things up quite a bit. That, and the waste from our nuclear power plants usually goes unchecked. Theres so much shit that causes cancer, and the masses scratch their heads, wonder where its coming from, and are reassured it has nothing to do with anything.
Anyone know how to make one with store bought materials? semi-auto or auto preferred.
Oh hi BATFE
>>549 I've enough machining experience and understanding of how firearms work to make one in full auto or semi auto, but I'm not going to because jail sucks
>>553 it's only a felony if you are convicted
>>553 in some if not all of the US you can make your own semi autos. Legally.>>553
in the spirit of... >https://masterchan.org/k/thread/268 what would be your second gun? mine would be a plinker. pic related. it is a colt scout. 22 S/L/LR.
>>283 my first pistol was a glock 19, i wanted a fullish-sized duty pistol. 9mm is the best balance for me of shootability (especially follow up accuracy), capacity, and stopping power. my second pistol was to be an everyday carry gun. i wanted small size and comfort over every other consideration. went with the ruger lcp custom, the better trigger is very crisp. it can live in my front pocket, unseen, with total comfort. given the chance to start again, i would do the same. pic definitely related.
Welcome to /k/, MasterChan's weapons board. Our board centers around weapons, armor, and other myriad military technology. While guns are the primary topic, threads involving any other sort of weapons, from swords and knives to tanks and jet fighters, come up frequently as well.
Close Combat Weapons General No guns, but projectile weapons are welcome.
>>419 >You can chuck a spear but not a rifle. says who?
>>419 Thats not what its purpose is... They used both weapons to stop cavalry charges.
In a modern context swords and spears are little more than dead weight unless you happen to be an experienced spear-hunter. A large knife, machete, tomahawk and the like is quite a bit more practical. A knife that straps or sockets onto an improvised spear handle can be quite practical. A stout war-club can also be fashioned rather easily either by using a hardwood branch with a knot on the striking end or a chunk of split firewood with a handle carved into the narrow end. These can than be hardened and blackened over a campfire. For more clubbiness you can then wrap the striking end in stout wire(To prevent splitting) and driving some nails through it. Make sure they're not so long that they'll get tangled in whatever you're hitting.
>>419 You can in fact chuck a rifle, or you could just ya know, fire it. If you need to hunt game with a spear the easiest method is to perch yourself on a horizontal tree branch overlooking a game trail or bait site high enough to be above your game's line of site(Most large game isn't concerned with airborne predators and thus rarely looks very high.) and of course, downwind from your prey's line of approach.(most game animals head towards watering holes and feed plots in the morning and away from them in the evening.) wait until they are directly beneath you and then loose your spear straight downwards between the shoulder blades. Or for a more sure kill(with more personal risk) drop quietly off the branch with the spear in both hands and drive it between the shoulder blades. Your added weight and control will improve the likelihood of gaining a meal and retaining your spear with the con being that if you screw up you'll likely turn an ankle, break a leg and/or find yourself in a fist-fight with a wounded, angry critter. Your level of experience and/or desperation will have to dictate if it's worth it.

Anyone know much about body armor?
>>442 Masks are utter shite if you have to wear then for more than 5 minutes since you're essentially wearing a brick on your face. A K-pot will stop up to .44 magnum but not 7.62x25. Generally speaking anything more than a plate carrier and helmet is just dead weight. The only exceptions being a groin protector when you need to do ballistic breaching or when mines and the like are an issue. Finally, the purpose of armor isn't to make you invulnerable, it merely gives you the chance to survive if you should get hit. It's always better to prioritize the bare minimum amount of armor and continue to focus on using cover, concealment and general fieldcraft that to over-burden yourself with too much dead weight.
>>532 Wouldn't exoskeletons fix the issue of overweight? (I don't know anything about the topic, don't kill me if that's a stupid question)
>>533 When battery-life gets to a point to make them practical for extended operations they could be used. But for the most part there's little to no reason to do so since you can get better armor, mobility and firepower from the use of vehicles rather than piling yet more kit onto light infantry.
>>535 I see, thanks for the common sense. In any case I think I'll live to see the end of the armies as we know them, being replaced by drones and using humans for surgical operations than the regular army vs army.
Sup /k/. So I want to get a gun, except I happen to not be able to legally afford a gun, since my country has A LOT of restrictions (Brazil). Anyways, so this drugdealer in my school said he could hook me up with a new( I think) or semi-new .38 Taurus Revolver, 8 shots for 1 grand (Around 500 USD). Do you guys think I should pay 1 grand for this weapon or just wait and find someone else who can offer me something else? Cuz I really hate revolvers, I would prefer to have a automatic pistol.
what would the deal be on getting a cap an ball revolver ? are the laws more lax for BP funs ? you could go pale rider and get a extra cylinder or just make something that you can throw away or take apart destroy quick if need b
>>125 That seems like a fair deal. Its a shame you can't get a Glock or some kind of surplus pistol.
>>125 don't purchase guns from drug dealers you idiot that's sketchy as fuck
Don't waste your money on a Taurus - one of the worst made, least reliable manufacturers on the market.
Not sure if this is the right place but screw it.. Where can I buy a barret 50.cal Location within America pls
https://youtu.be/vaR5uOVtIok I came
>channel is gone I knew I should have saved her videos
>>471 Who is she?
i planning to make a neck knife. im looking for a real nice design for it. it should possible to grip it with only 2 fingers + thumb rest on the spine. i guess thrust power wont be really effective with a blade this short, thus im making a chisel grind for better cutting properties. i'd be thankfull if you'd add something to the desing
What is with the moderators on 8ch /k/? They ban for long lengths of time if you post one child model calling it 'CP Lite'.
Might be because it's not related to the topic?
It's 8chan. They ban obscure movies.
>>466 >/k/ is for guns >/b/ is for cp common sense
Just like I thought. A board full of faggots, where not a SINGLE post is an original picture of a gun.
Way to go with the flow then.
